Dear Dietmar, I LOVED BEING IN YOUR SCHOOL AND IN AHLEN I tell you, it touches my heart that you are discussing Israel. I think you may be right that my vision of my country is closer to the decleration of independance that we have, it is probably closer to it than Sharon's vision. we don't think about this a lot in Israel, Anymore. I don' think that there is much discussion about how Israel should be, with attaching that to how the declaration of independace should be. Recently there was some document put together called the Kineret covenant or something like that when a bunch of jewish intellectuals and decision makers came together to put forward some statements of values and principles to the state of Israel, but a lot of it had to do with the jewish feelings of being scared and with isolating ourselves as a pople. I tihnk that good statements today for Israel gave to be jewish and arab and should come from jews from all around israel, from all different classes and positions and jobs etc. I returend to Israel yesterday morning and I am finding myself. I think I will give myself a few more days to rest and see how things go and decide where I go now as well. I had a great time in Germany and people tasted me well, though I have to say, I especially enjoyed Ahlen! Please send my best wishes to the students, tell them I loved being there, I really enjoyed talknig to them, and that they will hear from me soon regarding supporting objectors. I will begin to set this up in a few days. I hope you can work with those people in the list, I think there is a lot that is possible, I am glad that they wrote their emails down and I tihnk it was a good idea on the side of Marlies to copy it.
